After graduating from Liberty High School in 2008, Cpl Jed Morgan joined the Marines in 2009. On December 17, 2011, he married Anna Morgan and three months later, was deployed to Afghanistan. On June 21, 2011, Jed was critically injured in an IED explosion in Afghanistan. As a result, he lost both of his legs and sustained several other injuries, including full loss of mobility in his dominant arm. Morgan spent the next 12 weeks at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he was honored with a Purple Heart for his service. He was then transferred to San Diego, California for additional therapy and treatment. Morgan and his wife, Anna, and their newborn daughter, currently reside in military housing in San Diego, California that is only available to them until June of 2015.
This year, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors and the White Heart Foundation will provide the Morgans with a mortgage-free handicap accessible home to better suit their needs.
