On Saturday, February 7th, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors (JAH4WW) will host a private Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Sgt. Colin Faust between 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (CST) in Minnetrista, Minnesota.
The ceremony will mark the completion of the first ground-up build, as the keys are proudly handed over to Sgt. Colin Faust. Attendance will include: close family, friends, donors, contributors, and all-pro defensive end, Jared Allen. Media will also be allowed to attend from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
After stepping on an improvised explosive device (IED) while on foot patrol in Afghanistan, Faust lost his left leg and severely injured his right leg and left arm. Since then, he has been living in a small patio home in Mankato, Minnesota that is not suitable for his wheelchair.
To successfully complete the build, JAH4WW partnered with North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters (NCSRCC), which included: Carpenters, Floorcoverers, Cement Masons, Tile Setters, Brick Layers, Electricians, and Insulators through Homeco Insulators. In addition to the NCSRCC, the completion of this home could not have been possible without the generous contributions and help of Wells Fargo, Semper Fi Fund, Denali Homes, and Russ Drake Construction among others.
The new home includes installation of all hardwood and tile for easy wheelchair accessibility, customized bathrooms and kitchen, widened doors and hallways, and an elevator donated by Midwest Elevator and Drilling.
