JAH4WW Provides Another accessible Home for a Hero

Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors (JAH4WW) hosted a remodel commencement ceremony on Friday July 11, 2014 for Army Ranger Sgt. 1st Class Cory Remsburg. The Remodel Commencement Ceremony of Remsburg’s home took place between 10 a.m – 11 a.m. (MDT) at 2305 E Cortez Drive in Gilbert, Arizona. In addition to his friends and family, Remsburg was joined by the Gilbert community including Mayor John Lewis as well as received a personal skype call from Jared Allen himself. 

After joining the Army at 18, Remsburg went through intense, specialized training to become an elite Army Ranger, eventually becoming the leader of his company’s heavy weapons squad. On October 1, 2009, everything took a sudden turn when his platoon hit a roadside bomb in Kandahar, Afghanistan during his tenth deployment to the Middle East. As a result, he suffered a penetrating head wound with shrapnel lodged in his brain, which left him in a coma for over three months. With dozens of surgeries, years of rehabilitation, and the support of his family, he has made a miraculous recovery. Unfortunately, the accident left Remsburg blind in his right eye, partially paralyzed on his left side and currently living in a home that is not suitable for his daily needs.

After hearing his incredible story, Jared Allen teamed up with Lead The Way Fund, Inc and RIDE 430 Challenge powered by the Free Wheel Foundation, among others, to help raise money and compete the home remodel (which is expected to be completed by the end of this year) for a truly deserving hero – Cory Remsburg.
